Reminder: Make Time for Journaling!

Writer: Abby CalabreseAbby Calabrese

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your week. I wanted to share a little insight on how journaling has helped me find more balance in my busy life.

Journaling is one of the best tools I've found to process my thoughts, recognize patterns, and set intentions. It allows me the space to be fully present and appreciate all that I have accomplished each day, despite ups and downs. The benefits of journaling, even for just 10-15 minutes a day, are truly life changing. Some key perks include reduced stress and anxiety, improved focus and productivity, as well as greater self awareness.

To get started, here are three prompts to try that may help you integrate more balance into your work and personal responsibilities:

  1. List out everything you need to accomplish each day - both work and personal tasks. Then, take 5 minutes to visualize completing it all with ease and flow. This simple exercise can reframe your mindset from one of stress to confidence.

  2. Write a letter to yourself expressing gratitude for all you do each day to care for your family, your career, and yourself. Reflect on moments that truly matter to re-center on what is most important.

  3. Plan one small act of self-care for each day. It could be as simple as enjoying your morning coffee more slowly or calling a friend during your lunch break. Making yourself a priority each day is key to avoiding burnout.

I hope you'll give journaling a try this week. Let me know if any of these prompts strike a chord or if you have any other questions! Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
